Note:
This site is very much in a work in progress. We are learning and experiencing so much that is new to us. We plan to share as much as time allows, but we make no promises.

There are many shifts from first person to third person, and from past, to present, to future tenses. That's a result of the long time-span of putting this site together.

Pages that are incomplete today may be quite robust tomorrow. The photo gallery will be growing. If you are interested in what we are doing and saying, we urge you enter your email address above to be notified of changes to the site. Don't worry...There will be no spam. Your email address will only be used to notify you of changes to our site.

Kitchen

Our kitchen is about as commercial as you can get and still be residential. Much to the several designers' dismay, it is not generally square, with a granite or Corian-covered island. It's long and narrow...what professional chefs call a "galley kitchen."

There are no wall cabinets at all; just minimal base cabinets only to hold appliances. All of the working countertop space will be provided by rolling stainless steel tables that can be put in whatever configuration is appropriate for the task at hand: processing veggies, butchering animals, or preparing an elegant dinner for guests.

There is track lighting so that we can adjust the lighting for the specific task.

The principal sink is over eleven feet long. Yes, 11 feet! It consists of three tubs, each 18" front to back and 24" left to right. There's a 30" drainboard at each end. The splash-mounted faucet is of the pre-rinse type with an auxiliary, double-jointed spout. Pictures do much better than descriptions.

By the way, the kitchen is 20 feet long by 13' 4" wide.
